Whinnie Knowe, Sennen, Cornwall.
This scheme was the introduction of a sun room to an existing dwelling positioned on a elevated coastal position overlooking Sennen beach and the Longships lighthouse beyond.
The sun room is entirely glazed on three sides with the fourth leading back into the living room of the main house. Each of the three glazed walls is formed by a large sliding door. The traditionaly laid slate roof of the extension is supported by a steel ring beam cantilevered out from the main building.
The cantilevered roof structure alows for a cornerless door opening facade. In fine weather the doors slide back and the sides of the room dissolve and the room becomes more outdoors than indoors with an uninterupted panoramic view of one of the countries most beautiful seascapes.
