23 & 25 Farmers Meadow, Newlyn, Cornwall.
This building was previously two apartments over two separate floors. The introduction of a new entrance and stairwell turns the building it into one large residence. By glazing the ceiling of the new stairwell this also allows a large amount of daylight into the rear of the ground floor which is submerged below ground level.
Phase two of the scheme is the conversion of a lean-to outside storage area into an artist's studio with skylights providing plenty of north light.
