2 Vine Cottages, Newlyn, Cornwall.
The refurbishment of a grade II listed residential dwelling in Newlyn. A former fishermans net loft, the main structure of the building dates back to at least the eighteenth century. Mostly all that remains of the original building are the stone and cob walls and the steeply pitched timber roof trusses for a roof that was originaly thatched.
Besides remedial work to the building to further preserve the original structure the accomodation is rearranged with reverse level living to make the most of limited daylight which is improved with the introdution of new roof lights.
