Millers Cottage, Lower Alsia, Cornwall.

A new dwelling in a woodland valley. The house is built against the side of the valley backing into the slope of the hill with views looking south across the valley to a stream which runs through the property, and also views up the valley across the meadows. There is ample living accommodation on the ground floor most of which is spacious and open plan while there are a few more intimate places tucked away such as a snug for relaxing in on a winters evening.
Careful consideration has to be given in resolving the design when looking at the potential flood levels of the nearby river which is why the house is set back from the river and the ground floor elevated high enough to avoid the worst predicted scenarios.
